There has been a great deal of interest and confidence in Visible Silence: Thai Tomboys and the Women who Love Them since its inception. In 2006, the filmmakers were chosen to attend the Sundance Producers Conference. The project has received funds from the Paul Robeson Fund for Social Media, the Horizons Foundation, the Film Arts Foundation, the Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice, and the Center for Cultural Innovation. These generous donations have enabled our San Francisco-based team to travel to Thailand and work with our Thailand-based team members and film participants. To date, we have successfully completed two out of three of our Thailand-based shoots.
Visible Silence is advancing the social and political landscape for the Thai LGBTI community.
Additional funds are required to realize our vision, and we welcome individual donations to see us through.

- 1st step: $8,500 to create an assembly edit so we can see all our footage and begin to put it in order.
- 2nd step: $10,500 to make a final month long trip to Thailand to collect footage we need to complete the film.
- 3rd step: $17,000 to create a rough cut from all the material. At this stage, the film has taken shape.
